Stuck on "ceating connection in model" while trying to refresh queries

Hi everyone! Hope someone can help me with this.

My report in PowerBI Desktop (March 2018) was working fine until I tried to make some changes on the query that imports data from it.

When trying to apply changes and refresh data, it gets stuck on "ceating connection in model" and never updates.

I have checked other threads but none of those solutions worked:

  1. Disable all Data Load Options:
    data load options.PNG
  2. Replace "null" values.

  3. Reduce the number of columns on the file.

  4. Tried to refresh one by one the tables, but still the same issue.

The main database is "Base" and the other ones are just a copy of the original one with different columns unpivoted, end they are all related. "Dicc Grades y Type" is a special dictionary for one of the fields.

I cannot update the version as it is a "corporate" version where I work and IT releases the new approved versions. This is the last authorized version we have for our company, but I don't think it's a version related issue.

HI @rorromartins ,

Have you tried clearing the Power BI cache before running a refresh of the data?

To clear Power BI cache:

  1. File --> Option and Settings --> Options
  2. Global --> Data Load --> Clear Cache

If this helps and resolves the issue, appreciate a Kudos and mark it as a Solution! 🙂

Thanks,

Pragati
