Hi,
I have to develop a set visuals in the dashboard. There are 3 tables in the model. (Say Customer, account, transactions).
In the first visual, I am trying to show the top 10 customers, ranked by a measure coming from account table aggregated for each customer.
Ranking is calculated by RANKX function as below. Ranking is done for the entire client table for all the fields.
RANKX(ALL(customer)...)
In the second visual, I need to show the same measure (based on which ranking is done), for the top customers only, but with a breakup by a column called account type.
The moment I use account type in the second visual, the ranking function seems to be getting recalculated as the image is not refreshing in time.. which is not intended. I believe this is happening as the context changes the moment I refer a column from another table in the same visual as I am referring the ranked column also.
My questions are
1. How to retain the ranking criteria and the top n clients to drive the rest of visualizations.
2. How can I add new variable (account type) as a legend (to show breakup of measure by this variable) by retaining existing ranking and customer list?
3. Is there a way to store the results of the rank function + top N customer list into a table/view within model so that use it to drive other visuals from there.. if yes, how to do the same?
Not sure how clearly I explained. I have attached the sample PBIX file. Hope it is clear. (Power Bi File - TopN based Crossfilter)
Thanks.
It will be easy if you share some sample data in excel via gooogle drive or other way and expected result and will get back with solution.

Hi @parry2k, Thanks for the offer to help. I have uploaded the sample file in the original post.
Thanks. Will have to create some test data and sample sheet. Though it is test data, dont want to upload the data I have in the sheet.
I will create in a day or two and upload.
Thanks.
