Slice on ID, but display other column

I have a slicer that is currently set up to slice on a long random and guaranteed unique identifier. I want to slice on this identifier, but show a name associated to the identifier instead of the identifier itself. I really want to avoid slicing on the name itself, since it is not guaranteed to be unique. Is this possible?
