SharePoint Online List column expanding

Hello all,

I have connected a SharePoint Online list to PB desktop to build a report on the metadata added to the folder list. I need to expand the file column for more info I need on the files. But when I do this the refreshing of data takes ages in stead of doing this really quick when it is just the list.

Is there a way to add these file records as a seperate table in stead of expanding? when I can have this as a separate table and connect these in PowerBi the loading should improve.

Thanks for your time and help!

Jordy

A bit late on this reply, but you can follow this method: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/how-to-expand-a-list-of-records-in-a-query/

Hi,

You could try and add each one you want as a new query and then convert it to a table.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your quick answer, but unfortunately it doesn't solve the issue. Getting the info in 2 seprate tables makes the info better in overview, but it takes as much time as before.

Still every row in the "master" table is being queried, so about a 1000-rows takes up to 20 minutes to update (per column).

If the table could be converted to a seprate source where the relation is managed in PowerBi, that would save a lot of time, because it doesn't have to query every row when loading.
