Seeking Advice: Transitioning from Tableau to Power BI

I'm currently exploring the transition from Tableau to Power BI for report creation and analysis. I'd greatly appreciate hearing from those who have already made this transition. Could you share your experiences, particularly regarding the challenges you encountered and how you managed to overcome them? Any tips, best practices, or lessons learned would be incredibly valuable as I navigate this transition process.

Having made the switch myself 5 years ago, a couple of key tasks and challenges:

Technically, the main differences lie in:

• Data modeling, and getting use to working with Star Schemas
• Data ingestion, loading data with Power Query
• Calculations, using DAX instead of VizQL.

My advise would be to practice these areas by recreating some of your favourite Tableau reports in Power BI.

Try to get as close as possible to your original reports in Power BI.
