Measure or other calculation that iterates over two tables

Hi,

I have tried almost everything to get a right calculation but still don't manage. It might be very simple, but I can't come up with any correct solution.

The challenge is to create a measure, "Original Revenue" that iterates over two tables. It is pictured below.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Thanks,

Marianne

There are at least two ways to get your desired result.

The first would be to concatenate ProductNumber and Currency in both tables (new column using query editor or DAX calculated column) and make a 1:Many relationship between ListPrices and Sales.  You can then use this expression.

Original Revenue =
SUMX (
    ListPrices,
    ListPrices[ConvertedListPrice] * CALCULATE ( SUM ( Sales[Items Sold] ) )
)

Without making the relationship, you can use this expression

Original Revenue =
SUMX (
    ListPrices,
    ListPrices[ConvertedListPrice]
        * CALCULATE (
            SUM ( Sales[Items Sold] ),
            TREATAS ( VALUES ( ListPrices[Currency] ), Sales[Currency] ),
            TREATAS ( VALUES ( ListPrice[ProductNumber] ), Sales[ProductNumber] )
        )
)

If this works for you, please mark it as the solution.  Kudos are appreciated too.  Please let me know if not.

Regards,

Pat

Hi,

Thank you so much, the first solution worked well, and I will use this.

The second solution does not seem to work, and for curiosity and to increase my knowledge, I will try to work further with it.

So, just to be sure, is it also a measure or is it calculated column?

Thanks again!

Marianne
