How to connect SAP EPM to Power BI

Hello, 

I'm working on setting up a new database in Power BI and I needed the data for it to come directly from SAP EPM, without having to export into an Excel file beforehand. I've researched about this and found about SAP HANA but, since I'm a beginner, I'm not sure how it works. So, it would be really helpful if someone could give me insights about this.

For questions about how to connect SAP EPM directly to Power BI. You can follow the steps below:

Before Connecting to Power BI

1. Ensure that you can access SAP EPM data through SAP HANA. This may require coordination with your SAP administrator.
2. Install the ODBC driver that matches your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) from the SAP Software Download Centre.

In Power BI Desktop

1. Go to Home > Get Data > More.

2. Provide the name of the server hosting the SAP HANA database and select the appropriate option for the connection.
3. Once connected, select the relevant tables and click Load to import them into Power BI.
