Error on Refresh

Hello Folks,

I have data files located into sharepoint and I am using web link to connect data for PB dashboard. This is happening second time.

I created the dashboard and refresh, it work good and data get freshed but now I am getting error.

I am not quit sure why this is happening. No one is changing filed name they are just updating datainto sharepoint files.

Any idea why this is happening?

That's pretty easy - in this section:

Find "PRIORITY" in red and change it to "DC Week" - just make sure it matches what's shown in the column header in the step earlier

Hi Yes, I can see error in table. I can see the steps for each tables, anything which is "Changed Type" showing me error if I back track.  I only change the date type in data as it was text in data therefore I change to local.

@Amjad1002 That's good - that helps. It doesn't appear that the change types step is the issue - it looks like the problem is earlier in the Applied Steps section. So the thing to check is the Source and Navigation steps. You may need to click the widget icon next to one or both of those and point Power Query to the new location/new sheet name.

You can click on each step to see which one has the issue (basically, is it the Source step or the Navigation step that you'll need to fix). I'm guessing it's the Navigation step and you'd need to point it to the appropriate tab but if the location changed then you may need to update the Source step too. But basically, you want to click through each step until you see the error message appear and that's the step you need to fix.

I just figuer it out. someone change the column name "PRIORITY" to " DC Week". Now I want to update this column name how can I update so that error can be fix

@Amjad1002 Rather than refreshing the table, go into Power Query:

In Power Query, you should be able to see which queries have errors in it - it looks like it may be a handful of the tables.
If you don't see any errors when you open Power Query, click the drop down arrow under "Refresh Preview" and click "Refresh All"

That will try refreshing the preview data for each table. And you'll likely see errors in the tables. Then you can update any table names in Power Query or delete the tables and re-import them. But for sure, you'll need to make the updates in Power Query to fix the errors you're seeing. It looks like it may be a mix of changes to the location of files, changes to the name of files, changes to the tab names in excel files that may be causing those errors.

Now I have one error in on table. I do not see error in Source or Navigation but When I click to Change type I can see below error. I beleive someone remove the periotity column?

@Amjad1002 Yep, that error message definitely means it doesn't see that column anymore. You can remove it from the Change Type step pretty easily - just click the down chevron

Then find the entry for priority and delete it - make sure to delete the curly braces and the comma after too or you'll get another error message.

@Amjad1002 I'd suggest going into power query and refreshing all of your tables - especially the one that's generating the error. That may fix the issue or it would help track down the error which could be a name change on the table (sheet name change, file name change, something like that).

Here's a good blog about it: https://blog.crossjoin.co.uk/2020/04/06/understanding-the-the-key-didnt-match-any-rows-in-the-table-...
