Hi Folks, I thought that i had this issue sorted but i didnt... I am trying to show my users the date till the data is updated in the report. What i cleverly did and though its pretty simple is that i created a New Column using the formula below....
Lastest_Date= MAX(Customer_OrderDate) and this gave me what i wanted... however since the report has RLS the report gets filtered for that perticular user and let say that the data is updated till 10th Dec however the user who is viewing the report has the data only till 8th Dec so the formula i used shows 8th Dec instead of 10th Dec.
Please note i dont want to show the refesh date/time.. Does someone know a way how to do it ?
Thanks
Shariq

@Anonymous based on your input, seems like you have to send update date to data model from your data source, or create a table in power query using group by to get max date from your order table use that date to show as update date.

@Anonymous,
You may add custom column in Query Editor or calculated column in DAX, not measure.
@v-chuncz-msfti added a column not a measure which was derived from Customer_Order_date however since it is derived from the customer order date and the report has Row level security that that will change as per the user logged in...
@Anonymous,
If convenient, share us a complete example.
Perhaps just create a calculated column that has a formula of TODAY(). This will get refreshed when the data refreshes and contain the current date but it will be the same for all rows. Might also work to create a calculated column of MAX([Customer_OrderDate]) and it would be the same for all rows and you could use that.
@Greg_Deckler i tried both the ways.. TODAY() gets me the system date regardless of the data which is incorrect, i need to show the date till the data is update then which led me to use Max of Order date, now in the report i am using row level security so if the max order date in the data is 13th Dec but the user viewing the report has only till 10th the MAX function will show 10th Dec which is also misleading...
