I'm hoping someone can answer this as it has become a real headache for us.
We have a lot of reports that we would like to schedule refreshes on, but when trying to connect to these reports via Power Bi we get the "access is forbidden" message. The "issue" seems to be that these files exist in a site with the "teams" URL. We connect to other SharePoint files and lists all the time with no issues...but those all have "site" in the URL...not "teams".
Seems rather prohibitive. I have full access to the sites as I created them and am an owner.
https://companyname.sharepoint.com/teams/BusinessOpsTeam (this does not work)
https://companyname.sharepoint.com/sites/FluenceOperationsTeam (this does)
Any guidance is appreciated.
Hi @Anonymous
If i understand you correctly, you add a sharepoint tab/app in Microsoft teams, then you want to connect to the Sharepoint app with Power BI Desktop.
I can't find any reference for this.
I only find some similar threads as below:
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/How-to-connect-files-from-MS-Teams-to-Power-BI/td-p/659784
Based on my understanding, the sharepoint app you add on Microsoft Teams is from Sharepoint, you can directly connect to Sharepiont source.
You could also try "web" connector or "odata" connect, then enter the correct credential.
Best Regards
Maggie
