Hi,
I am wondering what is the best way to connect (excel) files from MS Teams to Power BI taking into account scheduled refresh for the report?
Any advice or redirections to good step-by-step instructions?
Regards,
Karo
Hi @karo
I can reproduce your problem by selecting Anoymous account.
This will throw an error as you said.
Then i go to Edit Queries->Data source setting,
find this data source path under Global permission like
Select it and select "clear permission".
Also, go to File->options and settings->option->data load, clear cache.
Then i select Get data->Web, enter the url from that link said with ?web=1 string removed,
then in the pop out window, select organizational account, log in with my account using for the MS Teams.
Finally, i can get excel in Power BI.
Best Regards
Maggie

Hi @v-juanli-msft ,
Appologize for delay in the responce. I was on vacacion 🙂
The additional hints were really, really helpfull and finally I am able to connect to my file via Power BI Desktop. However, should I be aware of any "extra steps needed" to make this source working via Gateway and scheduled refresh?
Regards,
Karo
Hi @karo
Is this problem sloved?
If it is sloved, could you kindly accept it as a solution to close this case?
If not, please let me know.

Hi @v-juanli-msft ,
Thank you for the reply and instruction. The reason why I did not accept yet this as a final solution is an error when I follow the instruction:
Expression.Error: Access to the resource is forbidden.
Any hints why?

Karo

Hi @v-juanli-msft ?
Any hints how to add the source to Gataway to avoid error: Unable to connect ?
Regards,
Karo
Hi @karo
You could connect to excel filed from MS Teams with Power BI Desktop as this link shown.
To configure schedule refresh, go to dataset setting->schedule refresh->credential,
make sure you select OAuth2 as the authentication method when configuring your refresh settings.
The account you sign in should be the same as which you sign in Power BI.
Best Regards

This step does not work for me. In Service, I don't get 4 options. Also, OAuth option is disabled by the Admin
