Depends on the load of the system when querying the data. If your system is already at the limit of what it can do and you throw load on it it could be problematic (but unlikely)
In principle you will have less problems if you use the ImportMode.
And if refreshing a PowerBI report brings your system to its knees, it means that your system was already under a lot of load.
I would make sure that the refresh times are not at the "peak time" of the system
