Average of daily entries

I need help writing a formula that calculates the daily average of entries on a sheet. For example, if today someone enteres two new rows on a sheet, and yesterday someone entered 8, then my column would show 4 daily entries on average. I'd want to filter it down to show the daily average in the last 30 days.
