Sharing a .PBIX with an external user (gateway)

Hi all,

Recently a client requested the .pbix for a published report.

As for the data source, I'm preparing a second schema just for him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, as for the gateway configuration, I will need to grant access to his server so he can use his gateway right?

I understand that if I share my gateway, he will have access to additional data which I don't desire.

Thanks,

Hi there

Yes your gateway server will have to be able to have access to their data source.

I have found when going to different customers it is often easiest to have a Gateway installed in the clients area where their data source is. You can still configure the gateway in your tenant to only have access to the specific reports.
