Hi all,
I have been trying to fix a bizarre issue with the share button and chat in teams functionality in the service and was wondering if anyone could help?
The problem appeared in one specific report after one of the updates (everything works fine for all other datasets and reports and used to work for this specific report). The problem is that when we publish this specific report to the service "Share" and "Chat in Teams" buttons do not work.
We tried multiple workspaces, including premium capacity and My workspace, and tried multiple dev accounts to publish. We found 2 versions of .pbix file one of which works fine the second (newer version) has this problem. We could not see what was changed in the file to cause this issue.
Could someone please advise what might be the reason? We specifically need Chat in Teams functionality as we used it to share bookmarks...
Unfortunately all suggestions did not help.
The problem is not related to Enable Microsoft Teams integration - this setting is turned on and works properly for ALL other reports (including the old version of the one with issue).
All users (developers) who tested and tried to resolve the issue have PRO license, moreover the workspace is premium capacity.
It does not have anything with privacy settings in browser - everything works fine for all other reports.
The problem is that we can't even share the report - the issue is only in a specific .pbix which has highly confidential data. We found a workaround using a query string parameters in the URL but still looking forward to get some valid suggestion about this specific issue, because we are using it for other use cases in other dashboards that might get the same problem in the future...
Hi @Anton_Seleznev ,
According to your description, you can first rule out that the problem is not caused by turning off this feature in the admin portal.
Also for the particular report you are referring to, does the user accessing it have a Power BI license? Or if your browser uses strict privacy settings, then the "Chat in Team" button may not work.
More details, you can read below document:
Chat in Microsoft Teams directly from the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
Collaborate with Power BI in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Office - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Henry
