Hello,

In Power BI desktop I can update the database without error.  However, when I publish to the cloud power bi it gives me the message below when refreshing the data source.

I've read online and a lot of people have the same issue.  Its reported that its most likely to do with privacy levels.  I've set all privancy levels to organization and still same problem.  I've also changed the privacy to public and still same issue.  There are 2 data sources, 1 is sharepoint (excel file) and the other is azure SQL database.  

This problem is driving me crazy.  Anyone tips to resolve this problem?

It appears that the error is because you have got two different data sources with two different Privacy Settings.

What I would suggest doing is in your Power BI Desktop file go into the Options and set the Privacy to None or Ignore. This is desgined by default, so if there is a privacy mismatch for the data to not be loaded.

And you need do this in manage gateway too.

theres only 2 data sources and they are both set to organizational.  im not using a gateway for this pbix.  one is azure and the other is sharepoint online. 

- I download the PBIX file and change the name and reuploaded as suggested in the articls posted, still same error.  

- File > Options and Settings > Options:
   GLOBAL > Privacy: have set the Privacy Levels to "Always ignore Privacy Level Settings"
   CURRENT FILE > Privacy: have set the Privacy Levels to "Ignore the Privacy Levels and potentially

- File > Options and Settings > Data source settings:

    - i have set them all to none, 

    - i have also tried setting them all to organizational. 

    - i have also tried setting them all to public.

    - i have also tried setting them all to private 

Please help this is a really frustrating problem!   Much appreciated.

Spoke to Microsoft support and found the problem.   Even though all the settings were correct in the destkop.  I had to reset the permsions on the power bi cloud (service) side by clicking edit credentials and setting he privacy settings and entering the password (see screen shot below).  Its now refreshing fine.
