Hello Power BI Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am seeking your expert guidance and support regarding a case in Power BI that I am currently working on.
In my Power BI report, I have a map visual that displays various locations. My objective is to enable a click event on the map visual, allowing clients to access the associated file when they click on a specific location.
Specifically, I would like to achieve the following:
When a client clicks on a location on the map visual, I want them to be able to access the file associated with that particular location.
If anyone has experience or knowledge in implementing click events on map visuals in Power BI and can provide guidance, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time and support. I eagerly look forward to your responses and insights.
Best regards,

Hi , @VeeraPowerBIDev
Based on my test and understanding on your requirement, currently we have the option to add "URL" or "hyperlink" as the format to be clicked on but it's limited for using in the matrix and table visuals, so if you want to directly achieve this in the Power BI map visuals, I may suggest you to use a "Cross page drill through" feature to first make the button click redirect you to a table/matrix visual which contains the "URL" to the corresponding file:
You can follow these official links to set up the click-on drill through in your Power BI desktop:
Set up drillthrough in Power BI reports - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Create a drillthrough button in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
You can follow these official links to set up and add the URL link to files in your Power BI desktop table/matrix visuals:
Add hyperlinks (URLs) to a table or matrix - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
Best Regards,
