Filled map (choropleth) data colors not working

I'm working on trying to create shading (color scale) on a Filled Map.

Following the instructions on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-visualization-filled-maps-choropleths  but in step 6 -- when i click on the "fx" button under Data Colors it just shows empty boxes (i.e., I cannot select any options).

This feature used to work before (last tested by me some months ago).

Tried using Chrome, Firefox & Edge including private browsing / incognito mode (and also tried different computers).

Any help is appreciated.

The service seems to be working properly today and I get the options and boxes to use a Color Scale (for example).

Perhaps it was a temporary issue that was fixed.
