Export to PDF adds shape border lines even though are switched off

When exporting to PDF the outline border always appears on shapes I am using for text labels despite turning this off in the settings, making transparent etc. 

The workaround is to set the fill colour the same as the canvas background and make 100% transparent, then switch off the fill but this looks like a bug to me.

What's 'shape border lines'? There is nothing unusual about the report I export to pdf. Can you provide the exported screenshot and the original screenshot?

This does sound like a bug to me and you have a current work around!
