Hi everyone,
I regularly use data from Xero to create reports using Power BI embedded. As their is a data connector with Xero in Power BI I had previously always used the 'get data' button to add a new data source to my workspace.
Now when I click 'get data' it always creates a new 'app' outside of my workspace, regardless of where I initiate the request from. Unfortunately this makes it impossible for me to use Power BI embedded which requires reports to be in a set workspace for use.
Does anyone know if this is a recent change to the functionality of Power BI service and whether there is an easy way for me to resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help
Did you ever manage to figure this out?
I have the exact same problem.
In about March I created a new workspace for a client, connected the Xero service, created their custom report and published to my website, all happy days! Now I've tried to do this for another, create the workspace, and all I get is this app that isn't in their workspace....
><
Thanks

I'm in the exact same boat! In about March I set up a deshboard by using the Xero connection in a workspace for a client all beautifully. Now I've tried to do it for another, I create the workspace, then go to add the Xero connection and I just get this app now.... not happy about the change and not sure how to fix.
Thanks
Hi Ferrret,
Are you using the Xero App in Services like below? If you are, after getting the app, you only achieve the read permission of the app. You can't add the report/dashboard to other workspaces. If you want to embed Xero report or dashboard to three-party apps, please refer to the Xero API: https://developer.xero.com/documentation/.
