Increase the number of allowed cores

Hi,

Suppose we run Power BI Report Service on-premise on a server with the equivalent number of cores as in our SQL Server Enterprise edition with SA,

and than we want to put more corse in that server -

What would be the procedure to do so?

Thanks, Elad.

You would just buy more SQL EE with SA core licenses.

Note that if you run Report Server and SQL Server on separate machines then BOTH machines need to be covered by SQL EE core licenses. So if you have an 8 core license you could have 2 x 4 core servers, one for SQL and one for Report Server. But if you wanted to have an 8 core SQL and and 8 core Report Server you would need to buy 16 SQL EE cores
