Hi guys,
My configuration is:
- Win 7 64 Bit
- PowerBI Desktop 64 Bit
- A MariaDB Database on localhost
I want to connect PowerBi to my database via ODBC. I have installed the correct 64 Bit ODBC driver and via C:\Windows\SysWOW64\obdbcad32.exe I habe configured successfully the connection to the database.
My problem is, that PowerBi shows me only the connection installed via the 32 bit ODBC driver not the 64 bit connection. To give it a try, I have also configured a connection via 32 bit ODBC driver. Power BI connects/shows me only the existing database names but loading the data does not work. PowerBI loads some nonexisting empty tables Children, Name and Description?!
Has anyone a solution to this issue or does anybody know what this is?
Regards
Hi @kingbrain,
Please check if the platform of the DSN is 64-bit. Based on my tested, if ODBC DSN is 64-bit, it can display in the Power BI desktop ODBC connector. If current DSN is User DSN, you can try the System DSN.
Also please try to run the latest desktop version 2.45.4704.442.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
Hi Qiuyun Yu,
unfortunately I am using a german version of Windows 7. Unfortunately, in ODBC-Admin tool there is no "Platform" column
I am using the PowerBI version: Version: 2.45.4704.442
Is there any other possibility to check platform or do you habe another hint?
Regards.
