Hi,
I deal with Text values that look like "01.01", "06.10", "09.18", "20.10" etc, that break reports if converted to Decimal.
In PBI PQ (or Excel PQ), I have an option to not have it "Detect Type", but when working with DataFlows with Power Query ONLINE, I can't find such an option, and so every manipulation of my query results in wasted time while PQ Online also adds a "Change Type" step that I then have to immediately delete when it's finished.
This is driving me nuts. Is there any way to tell PQ Online to stop doing this - just as I can do in PBI PQ / Excel PQ?
I've done online searches, but everything just points me to going into PQ settings (PBI or Excel) and I can find nothing about the Online version of Power Query.
Hope that made sense. Thanks for any help.
Jase.

@Jase71ds I am not aware of any settings in the service that provide the same options as in Desktop for this. It just doesn't exist.
Thanks for your input. Yeah, I combed through all the menu options and didn't see anything.
After I posted this, I decided that at minimum, I can let it change the Type to Decimal up front, do my thing, and then at the end go delete that step. Just have to remember to do.
Thanks again.
Hope they add that feature soon. It's a case of PQ trying to be too helpful 🙂
