waterfall

Hello,

I have a table that has a total cost row for each month.  I also have components that make up this cost.  So let's say costs A,B,C all make total cost D.  What I would like to see is a waterfall chart that shows me the contributions of each of these costs for a specific fiscal (not calendar) year. I am having some trouble figuring out how to make this happen using the waterfall chart in PBI.  Has anyone ever encountered this type of issue before?

Thanks!

Dan

HI @Cour002,

According to your description, you mean your table has total rows so it should similar as pivot table, right?

If that is a case, I think it not a valid table for power bi, it will get wrong result when you used to create waterfall or other visuals with summary fields.

For your scenario, I'd like to suggest you to remove these total rows and write a measure to calculate total amount of each level.
