get data from mysql to power BI using request in advanced options

Hello,

I am trying to get data from a MySQL database by executing a query that contains joins in "advanced options". When I execute the query in my DBMS, I find that there are 546,839 rows. However, in Power BI Desktop, when I load the data, I only find 10,642 rows. It seems that there is a discrepancy in the data. Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue?

Hi @SoukainaELMIRI ,

This can be troubleshooted in the following ways:

  • Data Conversion Steps: Power BI Desktop allows data to be converted during the import process. Some conversion steps (e.g., filtering, removing duplicates) may be applied unintentionally, resulting in reduced row counts. Please review the steps applied in the Power Query editor to ensure that no unwanted conversions are affecting your data.

  • Connection and Query Settings: Ensure that connection settings and queries in Advanced Options are properly configured. The queries executed in Power BI must match the queries run in the DBMS.
