Slicer removes bars from chart but labels in x-axis remain

My slicer is a "machine type" column that comes from a MACHINE_DETAILS dimension table. This table has a 1-to-many relationship with the MACHINE_STATS table. When I use the slicer, the filtered bars disappear from the chart but the labels on the x-axis remain.

Has anyone encountered this odd behavior before?

I had a number of measures written with ISBLANK() clauses that would return 0. This prevented the machines from disappearing when filtered.

I just realized that the same thing happens to my matrix on another page of the report.
