Hi all,
We have duplicate data models built out for a few clients that all have the same calculations/visualizations, but I'm struggling to find an easy way to essentially duplicate the workbook for new clients.
The main issue is that while we request the same data from each client, it is typically sent in sightly different formats (excel vs CSV, column titled "Charges" vs. "Total Charges", etc.), so that total standardization is not possible. So for example, we have a DAX calculation that multiplies the "Charges" column by a variable. When we duplicate this for a different client, however, the same data field for them is labeled "Total Charges" instead.
My question is - what is the most efficient way to take one report (that already has all of the calculations and visuals built out), and replicate this for a new client? Is it perhaps better to start with a blank report and add in the calculations from the current model, or to duplicate the current model and retrofit it for the new data?
Thanks in advance!
@Anonymous , Best would have been that you use some traformation tools and put csv, and excel in same format and then use in power BI.
Second is that you go ahead do some tranformation in power Query to make sure same column names and dat table name are available to data model for reports.
So take existing file and modify it (power query/ data transformation)
