Row level security not working from excel

I have created a SSAS tabular model.

Implemented rowlevel security using DAX, created roles as required. Used USERNAME()/UserPrincipalName() to filter data for row level security.

It works as expected when connecting to from PowerBI.

Row level security not working from excel when conencting to Tabular Model. when I connect to Analysis services tabular model using excel it brings up all the data.

I have implemented rowlevel security on SSAS Tabular model (Azure instance).
When I access the dataset from PowerBI it is working as ewxpected.

When I access the Tabular model from Excel, Rowlevel securiy is not working
