Hi all,

I am new to Power BI Desktop.

If I want to use Power BI Desktop for create analysis reports at company, but don't publish to Power BI.

Is it free or need to any charge?

Looking for your help.

Power bi Desktop support to use "connect live" mode to connect SSAS cube database.

In Power BI have free user and Pro User. 

For Por user u have to pay.

Free user totally free but have limitation.

for your case u have to purchase license because Analysis Service need Pro user if u using live connection .

We had purchased MSSQL server & Analysis Service license.

Could we use Power BI Desktop to connect SSAS cube generate report on my  laptop for business for free.

But don't publish to Power BI service and don't live connection.

1. Power BI Desktop is totally free product dude.

2. Once u did the dashboard on your desktop with live or Importconnection . then have to publish in Power BI service .

3. If u used Live connection " Gateway " is must.

4. If u used Import mode "Gateway" is not manditory dude. If u want schedule the data at the point "Gateway" is important .
