Identify all visualizations using a dataset

I've taken over a report that is a bit complex and contains hundreds of visualizations and a lot of data that I suspect is redundant. By selecting a visualization, I can see in the Data sidepanel, which table(s) (and variable(s)) that visualisation uses. However, is there a way to reverse that, and select a table to find out which visualisations use that table? This is a bit like being able to see dependencies between datasets, but extended to include visuals. I'd like to do this to identify which datasets are redundant without having to click through each visual and write down which dataset(s) it uses.

Ideally I'd have a dependencies diagram that shows connections from source data all the way from source data through to visualisations (at the moment, the final layer is the production datasets, but that doesn't give insight as to whether those datasets are used).

Hi, @rg255

Based on the information you have provided, I can see that you want a tool that removes redundant data and reorganizes it for a clearer visualization. I think you can use yEd Graph Editor to process the data and then get the dependency graph in yED.

1. Exporting data from Desktop.

2. Open the exported file from Desktop in yED.

3. You can do relational mapping and remove data you don't need in yED.
