How to get Fiscal Last Year Year-To-Date down to the day instead of showing Last Year Full Year?

Hi,

I am unable to sum the correct dates for values Last Year, Year-to-Date. When I use SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR or DATEADD I get the full year instead of just YTD through 9/12/2022 (most current data is 9/12/2023). I have a fiscaldaylastyear column that I want to tie it to, but have been unsuccessful.

Below are the formula's I am trying to use variations of, and screenshots of my data/relationships/expected results:

Bulletin (TY) = sum('value'[Bulletin])
Bulletin YTD (TY) = TOTALYTD([Bulletin (TY)],'Date'[date])
Bulletin YTD (LY) = TOTALYTD([Bulletin (TY)], dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,YEAR))
Bulletin YTD (LY) = TOTALYTD([Bulletin YTD (TY)], dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,YEAR))

@rlupe since last year has data for the whole year, it will calculate for the full year. Check this video on my YT channel which you can use towards your requirement.  Learn how to compare MTD sales as of date with same number of days last year - Part 7 - YouTube

A co-worker told me something similar, he pulls in data twice with the respective time frames to be able to do YTD so this makes sense. I wanted to see if someone else had found a solution. Thank you!
