How to calculate total sales of last fiscal year in a matrix

I'm trying to calcualte the fiscal year variance in a matrix, the function sameperiodlastyear and other similar functions doesn't work in my case as my date column is not contingent and has duplicates. 

Can anyone show me how to do the calculation?

@jerrhuang , Please use the date table, time intelligence functions well with a date table, Join you date with date table and use year from date table in visual

Year behind Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR('Date'[Date]))

Year behind Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year))
