Hi,
I want to create a matrix where I can group certain measures together and then be able to drill down and across, see below example:
Table | |||||||
Category | Chairs | Tables | Desks | Pants | T-shirts | Jerseys
COUNT | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | |
Want to group by columns like this
CategoryGroupBy | Furniture
SUM | 6 | ||||||
CategoryGroupBy | Clothing
SUM | 15 | ||||||
But then be able to drill down and across on either furniture or clothing
CategoryGroupBy | Furniture
Category | Chairs | Tables | Desks
Value | 1 | 2 | 3 | ||||
CategoryGroupBy | Clothing
Category | Pants | T-shirts | Jerseys
Value | 4 | 5 | 6 |
Thank you
if my source data consist of 20 million rows and then to unpivot this data would result in quite a large dataset, would this not impact power BI performance and ability to process potentially a billion rows?
@Rambo_1 If Table represents your source data, I would recommend unpivoting the columns. Then use Grouping to categorize your Attribute column by Furniture and Clothing.
