I can connect to the SQL database via Excel and PowerBI desktop. Also have the enterprise gateway installed on the SQL server, and the dataset configured within PowerBI but still unable to refresh the data.
ANy help would be great
Hi @tmears,
Have you added the SQL Server data source under enterprise gateway following instructions in this article: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-gateway-enterprise-manage-sql/ ?
Please make sure that the data source information you add under the gateway matches exactly what you configure in Power BI Desktop, in other words, the server name and database name should completely match between Power BI Desktop and the data source within the on-premises data gateway.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
