Data in Table visual does not match with bar chart

I have a table visual which has two columns(CITY and STUDENT_ID):

This data is correct. But when I convert the same table to a column chart, only one column is shown.

Why is this happening and how do I fix this?
Please check out the attached PowerBI file.

Hi  @sandeshp ,

Thanks for the reply from @PhilipTreacy , please allow me to provide another insight:

In Power BI Desktop, if the data you put into Visual is the same, then the data is automatically aggregated.

So you need to put [Account ID] into Visual to form each individual line.

Thanks @v-yangliu-msft , this approach shows the correct data in the column chart.

Is there any way to make the color of all columns same?

Furthermore, how would this work if I were to add a different field as the legend?

In the file you linked, it opens with a column chart.  If you change the visual from column to table, there is still only 1 city shown, Chicago.  That's due to the visual level filter.

In the image you initially posted, that filter can't have been applied to the table.

@PhilipTreacy Let me add the steps I am following:
1. This is the column chart in my attached file:

sandeshp_0-1711884096107.png

2. Convert the column chart to table:

sandeshp_1-1711884152775.png

3. Change the column "Count of Student ID" to "Dont summarize":

sandeshp_2-1711884233836.png

4. This now displays 2 rows, Chicago and Orlando.

Ideally, I want these two cities (Chicago and Orlando) in the column chart, with "Count of student ID" as 1 for each of them.
Please let me know if I'm missing something.

Hi @sandeshp

You've got a visial level filter on the Column Chart to only display data when the measure [CurrentStudentsOnly] is 1.  That will only display Chicago.

regards

Phil

@PhilipTreacy Yes, I have the filter [CurrentStudentsOnly] = 1. The same filter is applied on both, the table visual as well as the column chart as well.

I am just changing the visual type from table visual to column chart, moving the student ID to y axis, so that it takes in the "count of student ID"
The column chart should have shown two bars, right?
