Data import Sharepoint CSV mixes up the data

JuniorPowerBI_0-1688524087539.png

Hi Team, I have imported a csv file from a share point location and when I see the data is mixed up. What I mean by that is that data from other columns are populating randomly..In this case, Core and Recommended range shouldn't appear under banner and island column. It should rather be in the range type column.

My source data is correct though. have tried splitting the columns using delimiter as comma but that doesn't work as well

Not sure how to solve this problem..Appreciate if someone can help me with this please

Hi , @Anonymous

According to your description, you upload a csv to sharepoint . And when you connect it in Power Query Editor , the data is mixed up.

First of all, Power BI will not change any data and format of the source file, it will only read the data. You can try "APPLIED STEPS" on the left to check the first read data to see what caused the data confusion, is it because the current row is missing some values?

If the value is missing, you may need to complete the corresponding value in the data source.

If the above methods cannot help you solve the problem, you can send the csv file (with sensitive data removed) to us as OneDrive link  for testing and further analysis.

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
