Hi there,
I am trying to connect some data on companies, and I am finding that in some places they list themselves as LLP or LTD or there is the use of and or & interchangably, and this is causing PowerBI to not see the connections. Is there a way to make sure it is linking value where the name is very close to each other?
For example if I have Deloitte in one and Deloitte LLP in the other, I need PowerBI to see they are the same, but by default it doesn't. My thought was I will need to create another column and remove all instances of those values (LLP, LTD etc etc). Could anyone advise on how best to do this?
You could try merging the tables in Power Query using a fuzzy match. You will then be able to see where the matching doesn't work and put in additional M code to accommodate.
