Calculating Deciles in Power BI

Hello All,

I'm looking to calculate deciles for each row, for the table listed below.

Deciles because ultimately i want to be able to identify Top and bottom 10% of the Accuracy column based on a Area/Tasktype/Subtype combo.

This would help me derive conclutions like so :

  • 20% of all data values lie below 67.8.
  • 30% of all data values lie below 76.5.
  • 40% of all data values lie below 83.6.

AreaTaskTypeSubtypeAverageTimeAccuracyDecile
EastXXYAB012.3377%?
WestXXYAB020.33217%?
SouthYYZBC010.65165%?
NorthYYZBC031.21120%?
NortheastYYZBC084.53150%?
NorthwestABCCD012.1370%?
SoutheastABCCD026.25124%?
SouthwestABCCD105.15102%?
NNECBAEF013.33110%?
NNWCBAEF1222100%?
SSWCBAEF133.13103%?
SSECBAEF160.770.6128%?

Hi , @bhattg

In my working experience , i am not familiar about the "Deciles ".

But to get the Deciles  , there are two DAX funtion given to us.

 PERCENTILE.EXC  and PERCENTILE.INC

For more information , you can refer to :
PERCENTILE.EXC function (DAX) - DAX | Microsoft Learn

You can check which function is you are looking for and test it in your side , like this:

If this method does not meet your needs, you can provide us with your detailed calculation logic and the desired output sample data in the form of tables, so that we can better help you solve the problem. (You can also upload you sample .pbix [without sensitive data] to the OneDrive and share with the OneDrive link to me ! )

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!

Best Regards,

Aniya Zhang
