Creating a slicer for current month and YTD

I am trying trying to create a slicer that will allow financial reports to be filtered to disply current month or YTD data.

I have 2 fact tables (actual and budget) which are both linked to a dates table plus some other dimensions tables. The dates table already has current month and ytd columns created by using an offset calculation within the dates table. 

I suspect the solution is through creating a SWITCH dax measure but cannot quite work it through. 

Any help appreciated.

it seems field parameter might help you switching among multiple measures to plot the visuals.
