Shared report from Pro License is not viewable by external user with Premium License

Problem as the title suggests. We have made numerous reports for clients in the past months and initially all was good. Our clients got the 60 day trial notice and were able to access the reports no problem.

When the trial ran out they got the Premium Per User License but suddenly shared content did not show up on thei PBI website any longer. Whenever they accessed links it would take them to a PBI website that has them logged in but wihtout the license. It would state that they already had a 60 day trial and have to purchase a license now.

We are confused as to why it does not recognize their license and need some help here.

Edit: We did enable all share options in the Admin Portal as we figured this may be the issue.

@JanGunni ,
Add the external user into the Azure AD of your organisation as a guest user. Make sure the external user accepts the invite.

Hi @JanGunni

Here is my suggestion for your reference.

Re-share the link to the corresponding report to see if the problem still exists. Please feel free to let me know if the problem persists.

Best Regards,
Yulia Xu

Hello Yulia,

yes unfortunately the problem is still there.

Hi @JanGunni

I would like to apologize for the belated reply.

In what way do you share these reports with external users? Is it Planned invites?

Best Regards,
Yulia Xu

Initially I shared direct access through the PBI workspace and gave them viewing capabilities. Then I shared the Tenant URL for them to have a link to click on.

I also confirmed under Microsoft Azure Azure portal > Microsoft Entra ID > Users > All users > New guest user

They pop up (which they do). Stating User type: guest, Identity: external azure AD, creation type: invitation

I've been with the microsoft support for the past 2 months, trying to fix this, but no luck so far.

Some have voice it may be the governmental ppu restrictions stopping them from logging into commercial pro workspaces but who knows
