New 'Metrics Layer' announced at Fabric Conference

I am trying to find more details of the new  'Metrics Layer' introduced at the Fabric Conference last week and discussed here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-fabric/blog/2024/03/26/announcements-from-the-microsoft-fa...

I sat in on a session and it seemed pretty cool.  You could search for 'metrics'..basically measures and re-use them across PowerBi reports.

I don't see it on any of the road maps mentioned here...am I blind?
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/release-plan/

Are there any more details/timelines published anywhere?

@dhorrall I was there too and found this post when searching for information, which I also cannot find.

However, I was keeping notes, so I'll copy them here verbatim. Also, the person to watch on this is Patrick Baumgartner: https://azuredataconf.com/?utm_campaign=clt_ua_ln_o_el_fabric-conf_global_webvisit_28-02-24&utm_cont...

Metric Sets

Great metdata so things can be endorsed

And know what the best data to trust and reuse.

Patrick Baumgartner

Can even set the scope of the metric -- cool!!

Can even use it in a Spark Notebook or even in SQL??

Can even import and join in these metric sets into my model…. Woah.

Hi @dhorrall

My suggestions are as follows:

You can keep an eye on this document for subsequent updates,

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/release-plan/

and we have the Fabric forum where you can go to find more specialized help.

https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/

Best Regards,
Yulia Xu

Power BI Tips had last week two different sessions on the metrics layer:
[1] Explicit Measures Ep. 236: Metrics Hub, Hot New Feature with Carly Newsome
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsyDzKYjWnE
[2] Introducing Fabric Metrics Layer / Power Metrics Hub [also with Carly Newsome]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3Owp2DSj0A

I tried to consolidate the ideas into a blog post:
SQL Troubles: Microsoft Fabric: The Metrics Layer [new feature] (sql-troubles.blogspot.com)
Best regards,
Adrian

Doesn't really help answer my question since I already posted the link to the 'release plan' in my original post which does not contain any mention of the 'metrics layer' I am asking about.
