Renaming columns in Power Query doesn't show up in Power Bi desktop model/data/report view

When renaming columns in the power query editor (Table.RenameColumns) the steps are applied correctly.

When clicking close and apply the table is refreshed and the old column names are there. Renaming doesn't get through.

Power Bi reports refreshed on the Power Bi service don't have this problem. This problem first appeared Friday the 16th.

We use the Dataverse connector to connect to dynamics.

Hi @JS-PBI ,

I can't reproduce the problem in my side, please try to reinstall the latest version 2.118.828.0 through the below link instead of microsoft store.

Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue.

I uninstalled power bi (I installed it from the store) and I installed the version I downloaded from your link (2.118.828.0).

I also tried a few other steps:

- Disable query folding (by introducing an index column)

- Adjusting "Model language" under Regional Settings, tried: Use application language, English and Dutch.

All steps where unsuccesful.

Hi @JS-PBI ,

Are you able to attach the pbix here?

I am also having the same problem. In my case, I noticed this in queries using the SAP BW Connector data source.
I installed an older version and a newer one, and in both the problem is the same.
Renaming through Power Query does not rename in Power BI Desktop, and the same is true from Power BI Desktop to Power Query.
When you have a solution, can you let me know?

Sorry for the late reply, I'm currently following a DAX course.

Attaching the PBIX is a bit difficult (sensitive data), I have to ask some people. I can get back on that topic on friday.
