Different Ways to refresh power bi dataset reports

Hai All,

Appreciate support on this ,

What all are the different ways to refresh power bi datasets in the service level
We can use sheduled refresh in service level to refresh the power bi , but apart form the service is there any other way can we able to achive this ?

Using any microsoft power platform or azure ?
My excpetation is instead of using power bi service sheduled refresh other ways to refresh dataset in service

There are alternatives to refresh a dataset in Power BI service:

 

  1. You can set up scheduled refresh in Power BI service, as you described.
  2. You can trigger manual refresh in the UI of the Power BI web-app.
  3. You can trigger a dataset refresh from a Power Automate flow.
  4. You can trigger refresh through Power BI REST API. There are PowerShell CmdLets that encapsulate the Power BI REST API. You can call this from any tool or programming language of your choice. PowerShell makes it easy.
  5. You can trigger refresh through XMLA API. This also allows you to choose between refreshing a complete dataset, selected tables only or even s... There are PowerShell CmdLets that encapsulate the XMLA API. You can use any tool or programming language of your choice to implement the refresh, including PowerShell, C#, SSMS, Tabular Editor.
  6. If your data source is Excel on OneDrive, refresh happens automatically when changes in the Excel fi...

Be aware that available options and posible refresh frequency depend on available licenses and tenant settings from your Power BI admin. Some options require Power BI Premium or Power BI Premium per User workspaces.

Can we able to Refresh power BI Dataset which is configured with Mysql Database using power automate or any other method excpect power bi service sheduled refresh 


Yes, any of the listed methods works also with MySQL except 6.
