Troubleshooting multiple file versions and Audiences view of content

My co-workers and I share a PBI file that each of us works at different points. Yesterday, we inadvertentely created several different versions of the same file and when we went in to refresh and re-publish the report in our app, the app signaled 'All items are hidden from your audience(s). To publish your app, make sure at least one Power BI content is visible for each audience.'

Can audiences be affected when different file versions are created?

We're wondering which file to keep now without affecting the established permissions and audiences.

Hi, @Alta88

Content visibility for audiences in Power BI may be affected when creating different versions of a document. When adding new content to a published application it is marked as invisible by default. The application author must go to each audience group and manually unhide it. This may be why you see the message "All items are hidden from audiences". To publish the app, make sure that each audience can see at least one piece of Power BI content.

As for which files to keep, it's best to keep the version with the most current and accurate data, and then make sure each audience can see the necessary content. You may also want to consider implementing a version control system for your Power BI files to avoid such issues in the future.
