Power BI external tools Greyed out why cant I use them?

As the name suggests I seem to not be able to use my external tools in Power BI desktop

Dear @Anonymous 

I too had same problem what I did was 

 

Open file --> options and settings --> options --> preview feature --> check the box for store dataset using enhanced metadata format 

 

 

Before please make sure you have updated to recent version of all external tools and July 2020 power bi also .

 

And if still you have an issue please let me know ..

1. Make sure you have the latest versions of them installed. If yes go to point 2.

2. In power Bi desktop, Go to File --> Options --> Preview Features.

Here Check the Option Store datasets using enhanced metadata format.

@Anonymous also you have to make sure Enhanced metadata is turned on in options under preview section.
