Power BI Slicer - Cannot add Search Button to Slicer

Hi! Can't seem to find the toggle button to turn on the search bar for power BI Slicers.

It says here that the slicer settings to Format Visuals > Slicer Settings. But I can't really find the search (Even searched it from the search bar from 'Format Visual')

Hi @MMMDC12

The slicer Search bar is only a available for columns of type text.
If you add a copy of the Year column converted to text, you should find the option to enable Search by clicking the ellipsis "More options" menu on the top right of the slicer visual.

regards

My column is Text and I have no search I can add to the Slicer either. Has it been removed completely now?

Nope I have found it now. You just click on the bar and add search at the top of the slicer

Hi @DebbieE , may you please detail what have you done to allow the search option to appear?

@DebbieE

That's odd. Search has not been removed as a feature of the slicer, and is available for the Button Slicer as well.

Could you post a screenshot of the slicer with the "More options" menu open, similar to this?

Or a link to a shareable pbix where you're having the issue?

This is the best answer for this type of question! I've searched for a while

However, as wrote above, this is not a solution since it does not work for me.

Sorry for that. Hope you get an answer soon.

Could you share a simple PBIX where you are having the problem, or provide screenshots or other further detail?

Hi, I have the same problem despite my column i a type "text". No search option in that visual as weel as many others visualizing text data.

@IlMoro

Is this still a problem, and if so could you share a simple PBIX where you are having the problem?
