Hi @Anonymous
There are two versions of connectors,1.0 Sap BW connector and 2.0 Sap BW connector. We suggest you use the Implementation 2.0 SAP Connector whenever possible.
I think you may refer to the offical blogs to learn how to use SAP BW connector in Power BI Desktop.
For reference:
Use the SAP Business Warehouse connector in Power BI Desktop
You may refer to below offical blogs to learn more details about the differences between SAP BW and SAP HANA.
Connect to SAP Business Warehouse by using DirectQuery in Power BI
Connect to SAP HANA data sources by using DirectQuery in Power BI

Hello,If PowerBI needs to fetch data directly from SAP (say reports, queries, tables, views, CDS, BW extractors etc) then the USB4SAP connector for PowerBI will be useful: Ecoservity – Ecosystem. Services. Technology
Besides realtime in PowerBI, you may also provision SAP data to a datalake/ DB / NFS & consume from there.
This is certified by SAP & Microsoft: USB4SAP - Connectors | Microsoft Learn.
hope this helps.

There is an easy solution to this. Simplement, a Microsoft Partner, offers an event-driven platform that reads SAP HANA tables in real-time, and can give you access to any of the SAP tables you need. No need to go to the Calculation views, or to any BW Objects, get the table data dirctly, and instantly. They are at www.Simplement.us
