Hi,
In our current business setup, we have several SQL databases hosted on-site. We extract data from these databases directly into PowerBI using the SQL connection feature within PowerBI Desktop.
Although the current process is functioning effectively, we are interested in achieving more real-time updates for our reports. Currently, we use DirectQuery to achieve some real-time updates, but it has limitations as it restricts us from using PowerQuery.
We are curious whether any of the Fabric features could offer us an improvement over our current approach in terms of real-time updates and the way we store and retrieve data?
Thanks,

Thank you, so from my understanding the lakehouse within fabric would effectively be querying the sql database with the PBI report connected to the lakehouse rather than the sql?
Do you have any experince of how much resource this eats up if there is constant communication between the sql database and the lakehouse?
