I have created a relationship between two tables and they can filter each other, but when I do it in Analyze in Excel, tha table cannot filter another table. Kindly help.
Hello @marbi, "Analyze in Excel" functionality doesn't affect the semantic model. Think about "Analyze in Excel" as pivot table and your PowerBI report as a data source: when using PivotTable you can't change the source data (doesn't matter if it comes from another Excel sheet or from PowerBI semantic model (i.e. new name for data model).
If you consdier this asnwer incomplete, please share an example of pbix file and describe in details the issue you have when using it with "Analyze in Excel".
Have a nice day!
When I choose 0L in Ledger it filters the Ledger Name column from the other table in Power BI. Relationship is applied in both tables. But when I analyze the data in excel, Ledger Filtering of CVM_AC_Ledger table doesn’t appear to be working correctly. When filtering CVF_GL_Balances to the 0L ledger and adding the Ledger Name to the table, the GL Balance filter doesn’t filter the AC Ledger table values. Only the value for “Leading Ledger” should appear not all Ledger Names.
Please share pbix file I can test. If you work with senstitive data, prepare a test with fake data (make sure you have the same issue there as well).
Test - Power BI Please see this link. Uploading PBIX file is not supported here.
Please upload your pbix to some file sharing platform (Google Drive, OneDrive, FileShare etc.)
