Tutorial for Power BI

Hello,

I'm new to Power BI and looking for a end-to-end tutorial to try out different components of power BI.

Can you please tell me where I can find such a tutorial?

Thanks!

Re: Tutorial for Power BI

Hello,

I'm new here too, most of what I learned was through the Youtube Channel of Power BI, videos are short and instructive and also when you open the Poer BI for Desktop there is a Getting Started page that takes you to the help section with various tutorials and guides.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Re: Tutorial for Power BI

I wish all training material mentioned wasnt such a deep rabbit hole...maybe that is as it should be...links within links within links leading to other links interspersed with additional chances to login again.

Re: Tutorial for Power BI

There is a pretty good course on edx -

Microsoft: DAT207x Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI

https://courses.edx.org/courses/course-v1:Microsoft+DAT207x+1T2016/info

The current course will be closed out next week, and a new version opened up on 6/1/2016. Hopefully, it will still be free.

I also did a search at Microsoft Virtual Academy, but didn't see any courses which covered the scope of Power BI.

I have created a site dedicated to this very purpose.  Check out https://powerbi.tips/  Over the past two years, I have struggled to learn all the little details of PowerBI.  This site is my exploration into the tool and what I have learned along the way.

Enjoy,

Re: Tutorial for Power BI

Hi

I am also quite new in using Power BI and currently I am creating a dashboard. I need some help in creating a measure or whatever is the best thing to do to get a value in my Card.

The scenario is:

I need a data/value to reflect on my Card which will come from a table when my slicer is slected all.

The thing is, i dont know how the data will be pulled up from the table.

i.e

Filters are: A, B, C, D

data from the table i want the results to come from:

Sector    Plan

A            75%

B            72%

C            71%

D            73%

Total       74%

I can get the value from the table when i filter on A, B, C ,D but when the filters are all selected, I cannot get the Total Plan%

can you please help? Thank you Smiley Happy I'm trying to use if and lookupvalue in my measure but i cannot get it right
